Dormify Pop-Up Summer Stylist

We are a fashion and trend focused e-commerce brand that offers stylish, high quality designs for bedrooms, dorm rooms and post-grad apartment living, with inspiration that reflects personalized preferences and style. Summer is our busiest season, and as we help prepare our customers (students and their families) to perfect the style and execution of their dorms or bedroom spaces, we are looking for an elite group of individuals to be a part of our Dormify Pop-Up Shop team at The Street Chestnut Hill. This is a direct extension of our online brand, allowing customers to interact with and receive one-on-one design help from a
Dormify Stylist (which could be you!). These stores will operate from June 1 – September 1, 2021, with the potential to renew either short or long-term based on individual store location performance.

What you’ll do:

As a Dormify Stylist, you will be working directly with customers, assisting them during one-on-one Stylist
Sessions to outfit their space. You will maximize sales through scheduled appointments as well as walk-in consultations. Aside from representing Dormify as an employee, and operating within our Code of
Conduct and brand values, sample tasks will include, but are not limited to:

  • Promoting Dormify through your own network, actively prospecting new clientele
  • Managing your own appointment schedule including pre- and post sale activities
  • During scheduled appointments, you will:
  • Build a relationship with the customer and assess their goals and needs
  • Follow the Dormify customer journey guidelines throughout the appointment, incorporating education on dorm living and product essentials to support a successful move-in experience
  • Provide Dormify product(s) recommendations to match their personal style aesthetic
  • Place orders on the customer’s behalf for merchandise found on
  • Assist walk-in clients
  • Staff Dormify Events – both in and out of the Pop-Up Shop
  • For physical pop up locations: Maintain a clean, safe working environment while providing the best in-store customer experience
  • Focus on achieving and exceeding daily, weekly, and monthly sales goals on an individual and store level
  • *Follow up with customers post sale through thank you notes or messages, ensuring an excellent experience pre-, during and post appointment
  • *Be responsible for special projects that could include:
  • Social Media: *Promote your pop up or virtual styling program through facebook and instagram, using social media content created specifically for your location
  • This can include but is not limited to: showcasing customers on our instagram story with their finished bed design, allowing instagram followers to get a first hand glimpse into a styling session with snapshots and sneak peaks from a live appointment, develop creative campaigns to push product for steady sell-through, promoting product launches and promotions established by the Dormify Marketing calendar, promoting pop up shop events throughout the summer (ex: meet the founder, college nights, etc)
  • Event Planner: *Take the lead on all events, both in and out of the Pop-Up Shop
  • This can include but is not limited to: Organizing the facebook page and invitations for each specific event, organizing food, supplies, and decorations, networking with prospective attendees to ensure the success of the event, ensuring that the event is being adequately promoted and accurately represented on social media, ensuring adequate staffing, ensuring Dormify is providing a clean and safe environment for all staff and attendees
  • Visual Merchandising: *Guaranteeing that the pop up shop accurately represents the Dormify brand with guidance from our Visual Merchandising Team
  • This can include but is not limited to: Making sure that the look and feel of the store is on point, ensuring that all product is easily visible and accessible for customers and stylists, keeping product organized both on the floor and in the stock room/storage area, removing trash from the pop up shop and maintaining a clean and safe environment

What you’ll need:

  • You’re a current college student or recent college grad that knows a thing (or two) about dorm living
  • Social and outgoing personality with a passion for helping people and building relationships
  • Strong eye for style and interior design
  • 1-2 years of selling + retail experience
  • Ability to effectively and productively work with others as a team, while operating as a motivated and independent self-starter
  • You aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty to set up the floor and stockroom
  • You’re creative and driven to exceed individual and store sales goals
  • You’re organized and able to manage your own appointments and schedule
  • have strong follow through

  • A passion for making the Dormify shopping experience as stress-free and fun as possible
  • You’re able to work Saturdays and/or Sundays
  • You’re legally authorized to work in the US
  • You’re able to work from May 28, 2021 until August 15, 2021 with flexible schedules up to

40 hours per week
