With his latest installation, street artist J.Goldcrown makes his New England debut and spreads a little love in Chestnut Hill.

The one-of-a-kind rendition of his signature #Lovewall was designed exclusively for The Street Chestnut Hill, in partnership with Newton-Wellesley Hospital.

A fashion photographer turned self-taught muralist, J.Goldcrown debuted his work in 2015 at Art Basel in Miami. Since then, his highly photogenic Lovewalls have garnered a cult following and are among the most photographed and “Instafamous” urban street art in the U.S. and abroad in Japan, South Korea, China, England, Australia and Brazil. He has collaborated with companies such as Vogue and L’Oréal, as well as artists like Kygo and Steve Aoki.

The statement-making mural comprised of bleeding multi-hued hearts is on display next to Polkadog Bakery and creates a joyful visual experience for the Chestnut Hill community and beyond. In addition to the mural, J.Goldcrown’s bleeding hearts can be found sprinkled throughout The Street, providing guests with colorful surprise and delight moments. In celebration of J.Goldcrown’s debut, The Street will offer a series of events, giveaways, social media contests and more throughout the summer. “The #Lovewall is sort of an accidental phenomenon, and I am so humbled by where my work has taken me. Bringing my hearts to The Street Chestnut Hill is so special as it’s my first imprint on the Boston area. I hope it sparks joy for all who encounter it,” says James Goldcrown.

“Public art is intertwined with The Street’s DNA. We are always looking to create exciting and unique visual experiences for Chestnut Hill and the J.Goldcrown x The Street #Lovewall in partnership with Newton-Wellesley Hospital perfectly suits the property’s personality. It also unites us with the hospital and our surrounding communities in a very meaningful way. The mural’s bright and lively aesthetic is sure to make our shoppers stop and enjoy the experience,” says Alana Frey, General Manager of The Street Chestnut Hill.

Newton-Wellesley Hospital is dedicated to finding a better way, striving to transform and improve the way it delivers health care. Through this partnership with The Street, Newton-Wellesley can have an even greater impact on improving the health and wellbeing of those living throughout the communities the hospital serves.

“We are thrilled with this display of public ‘heart’ in the Newton community,” says Dr. George J. Philippides, chief of cardiology at Newton-Wellesley Hospital’s Elfers Cardiovascular Center. “The opportunity to promote all facets and functions of the heart – from love and community to cardiovascular wellness, prevention and treatment – aligns directly with our mission as a community hospital.”
