The Street Open: Beer Garden with Jack’s Abby

Sun, June 19 | 12 PM - 3 PM

The USGA U.S. Open is coming to town this June! As Golf’s most talented stars prepare to take on 18 holes just down the street at The Country Club in Brookline, we’re celebrating with an outdoor beer garden on The Green with Framingham-based brewery Jack’s Abby. This community celebration includes local brews and cider by Jack’s Abby, live music, live streaming of The Open throughout the event area, cornhole, mini-golf putting greens, crafts for the little ones, pre-packaged snacks, water, soft drinks, and more. Whether you’re a golf fanatic, sucker for a fresh brew, or looking for a family-friendly way to spend Father’s Day, we can’t wait to see you at The Street.

For some local bites, folks can order takeout from our favorite eateries, including Bianca, Shake Shack, Chilacates, Legal Sea Foods, Davio’s, Juice Press, OddFellows Ice Cream Co., Pineapple Thai, Blue Bottle Coffee Co., The Bagel Table, Aquitaine, and Hummus v’Hummus (opening soon). Hint: Bianca and Shake Shack are located right next to the event area!

Attendance is free, but we encourage you to register for yourself and your group so we can get a sense of who to expect! See you soon.

About the U.S. Open:

The USGA is a non-profit organization that celebrates, serves and advances the game of golf. Founded in 1894, we conduct many of golf’s premier professional and amateur championships, including the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open. With The R&A, we govern the sport via a global set of playing, equipment, handicapping and amateur status rules. The USGA campus in Liberty Corner, New Jersey, is home to the Association’s Research and Test Center, where science and innovation are fueling a healthy and sustainable game for the future. The campus is also home to the USGA Golf Museum, where we honor the game by curating the world’s most comprehensive archive of golf artifacts.

About The Country Club in Brookline:

Founded in 1882 and located in Brookline, Mass., The Country Club is one of the oldest clubs in the United States and one of five charter members that founded the United States Golf Association in 1894. It has played host to 16 USGA national championships, more than all but one other club. And it has served as the site for a number of the game’s most important events. These include the 1913 U.S. Open, won by amateur and Brookline-native Francis Ouimet, which began the golf boom in America; the 1999 Ryder Cup that featured the U.S. team’s dramatic Sunday comeback; 1902 U.S. Women’s Amateur, the club’s first national championship, won by Genevieve Hecker; and three U.S. Opens (1913, 1963, 1988) that all finished in playoffs.
